Hi - the Harbour City Newcomers Hiking group meet every Wednesday at the Northfield parking lot just off the Parkway. We usually meet at 9:30 a.m. but in good weather (usually the summer), we sometimes meet earlier so that we have an opportunity to try longer hikes or hikes that are a little way out of town i.e. Mount Washington.
If you are new to hiking it's a good idea to somewhere between late fall and early spring when we will be doing easier hikes/walks.
The most difficult hikes we've done so far this summer are Mount Prevost, Mount Washington and of course the local mountain - Mount Benson.
The hike up Mount Benson was everything I thought it would be. It was a great hike, a bit of hard work and a fabulous view. Mac ( the guy with the yellow hat)
